About me

When I was in school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted to take a gap year after school and not go to university straight away. During that year I worked at Bunnings and began by working on the cash register. After 5 years with Bunnings, I decided to start my career in administration and landed an admin role at a company called Document Solutions. I spent a year there and wasn’t developing how I would’ve liked to. I asked my parents for assistance and my dad being in the construction industry said he could help me try and find something.

I applied for a traineeship role which was only for a year to complete a Certificate III in Business and got the job. I developed quite fast within that role which sparked the eyes of some managers. This ended up helping me transition into a different role with more learning and difficult tasks. My manager saw that I was a fast learner and gave me a more complex role of Project Admin and Document Control. This was definitely a tough experience as I did not think I could do it. My manager helped me through the transition and now I am loving what I am doing and developing my knowledge further every day.

Project Administrators are responsible for many different tasks within the project. Firstly, they are responsible for providing support to the Project Leadership team and extensive administrative support to the Project Director. Project Administrators are also responsible for managing financial and commercial tasks within the team, such as contract management, ordering supplies, and processing/managing invoices. The Project Administrator role also involves Document Control. This includes, managing and organising highly important documents to send to the client.
