The role of a Contract Administrator involves reviewing contractor scope of works and quotes. Managing the payment of those sub-contractors throughout the life of the project and approving contract variations where they occur. There is an expectation that CA’s work closely with their Project Manager and site team to ensure all sub-contractors are working in accordance with the project schedule and expectations. Reviewing safety management procedures and ensuring that safety is carried out on-site is also involved. Due to the nature of the construction industry, the role involves a lot of problem solving and relationship management. CA’s can be involved in the early design stages of a project to provide valuable input that can guide the design and ensure that what is being proposed is aligned with the client budget.
