New Holland partners to cultivate talent pipeline success

.

UNIQ You is pleased to announce New Holland Agriculture as its newest partner in increasing the number of young girls and women considering and pursuing careers within the male dominated agriculture and manufacturing sectors.

In 2022 the National Farming Federation (NFF) identified fixing gender inequities as a key target within its 2030 Roadmap for agriculture to be a $100 billion industry. This focus was off the back of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s data revealing 34 percent of women comprise the agriculture workforce with only 20 percent representation in management.

New Holland Agriculture has joined forces with UNIQ You to intervene early in the career pipeline. The service connects grade nine to 12 high school girls, during their critical career decision making years, with inspiring women who have chosen a path less taken.

Bruce Healy, General Manager of New Holland, says the career advisory service delivered through UNIQ You will support a more diverse pipeline of talent across the industry and minimise gender-related obstacles.

“New Holland Agriculture has always sought ways to build workplaces and communities free of gender bias, stereotypes, and discrimination–and this partnership will be another way for us to continue to promote that equality,” said Mr Healy.

“The future of agriculture, logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing industries is dependant on encouraging diversity and inclusivity within the next generation of emerging talent,”

“This partnership will be a powerful way to encourage young women to consider the array of pathways available to them in agriculture, as well as support that transition into industry opportunities should they want to pursue them.”

UNIQ You CEO Tanya Meessmann said UNIQ You looks forward to working with New Holland Agriculture to showcase the diverse range of career pathways the agricultural industry offers.

“The agricultural industry now and in the future is about much more than the traditional understanding of food production. The industry is being transformed through technological advancements and new Agribusiness opportunities, while also keeping at its forefront environment and social issues,” Tanya said.

“Working with New Holland Agriculture we are honoured to be able to connect their inspiring female advisors with students so they can discover exciting and fulfilling career pathways the agricultural industry offers, careers that they would have never imagined existed.”

In its second year of service, the number of schools engaged with UNIQ You has increased by 50 percent to 44 schools across metro and regional Queensland.

UNIQ You provides access to industry women based across Australia from 10 industries identified to comprise less than 40% women, making agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing priority sectors.
