Exceptional women recognised at TMR

.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) takes gender equity seriously and is committed to finding ways to acknowledge and elevate inspiring, remarkable and dedicated female employees in the department.

Since 2020 TMR has conducted the TMR ‘Wonder Women’ recognition program through which women working in any area of the department, and at any level, can be nominated by their colleagues for doing an exceptional job.

This year, our Chief Operating Officer and Gender Equity Champion Anne Moffat presented the 2023 recipients with their awards during our Queensland Women’s Week event (pictured).

Each recipient is paired with an ambassador—a member of TMR’s senior leadership team—to receive career mentorship and guidance over the coming year.

Max Jamwal-Girdler, 2022 Wonder Woman award recipient, said, “It opened new doors for me. It put me in touch with amazing, inspiring mentors. It gave me agency to use my voice even louder and stand up for the things I value. It has been a powerful element in my life’s journey these past 12 months.”

This is just one part of a wider program of employee recognition at TMR. After all, our employees are fundamental to achieving our goals and making TMR a great place to work!
