About me
- Regional Background
I never knew exactly what profession I wanted to be but I knew I was good at reading, writing and talking. So I followed this and initially went to university to study Journalism. I quickly realised being a journalist wasn’t for me, but fortunately, a teacher pointed me towards Public Relations and Communications. My first job out of university was delivering communications and community engagement to support road and tunnel operations and maintenance activities across Brisbane. From there, I’ve worked on major construction Projects such as Logan Enhancement Project, Mt Crosby New Vehicle Bridge and now the Rockhampton Ring Road North.
About my role
- Calm
- Flexible
- Passionate
- Perfectionist
- Sociable
I communicate and engage with the communities where we work to minimise the impact from construction activities and promote the benefits of the project. Everything from letters to neighbours about upcoming noisy works or road closures, chatting with schools and local interest groups about careers in construction, and sharing video and photos of construction progress.
