About me

  • International Experience

I originally wanted to be a pilot – I thought getting paid to travel the world would be amazing. I applied for the Air Force but didn’t get in, and suddenly I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I’ve always been good at maths and problem solving, so I spoke to my mum about my options. Construction has always been in my blood – my grandad was a civil engineer who started his own construction company in New Zealand, and three of my uncles are also engineers. After talking to one of them about what it’s like to work in the industry, I realised that being onsite and building civil projects sounded like a lot of fun. That conversation sparked something in me, and I decided to study civil engineering.
