About me
When I was in high school, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do. I enjoyed graphics and physics, which naturally pointed me toward engineering. While I found engineering interesting, I struggled with the theory-heavy side of university, and maths was never my strongest area. To make sense of it all, I looked for hands-on, practical ways to apply what I was learning. I didn’t set out to work in mining, but I kept following the things I enjoyed and was curious about. That mindset led me to opportunities I hadn’t expected, and eventually to where I am today.
About my role
- Optimistic
- Passionate
- Reliable
- Trusting
The Asset Health team monitors real-time data from our heavy mobile equipment—such as haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and graders—to assess their condition and performance. By analysing this live information, we can quickly identify when a machine is operating outside of its normal parameters. When that happens, we can take proactive steps to remove the asset from service before a breakdown occurs. This approach helps prevent costly failures, reduces unplanned downtime, and ensures that equipment is available when it’s needed most. It also plays a key role in keeping our people safe by addressing issues before they become hazards. Ultimately, Asset Health supports both operational efficiency and workplace safety by making sure our fleet is running reliably and responsibly.
