About me

I grew up on the Tweed Coast and had planned to be a physiotherapist / exercise physiologist or a PE teacher after my undergraduate and post-graduate studies. I had commenced my career as an exercise physiologist, specialising in musculoskeletal injuries and occupational rehabilitation management. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness in mid-2014 (end stage renal failure and kidney disease) whereby I had to make some changes, both personally and professionally. This led to me further pursuing a career in injury management and occupational health & safety.

From there, I have pursued a range of occupational health and safety roles in construction, rail, supply chain retail. From school, I have always been passionate to help people’s health and enrich their lives, and was fortunate enough to transition from clinical management to roles in workplace health & safety in high risk settings.

At Hutchies, I started as a HSE Coordinator and have since obtained the role of HSE Manager for the Hutchies Cranes & Hoists division. I have recently completed my studies in Occupational Health and Safety. Furthermore, I plan to get my dogging, rigging and tower crane operation tickets to enhance my experience and better support my crane crews, riggers and subcontractors.

As Australia's largest privately owned construction company, our business capability allows us to build not just in big cities but also in the most remote regions of Australia and across multiple sectors including: commercial and residential high-rise, health, education, retail, and aged care – just to name a few. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible value, ensuring buildability without compromising quality or design. Hutchies was born as a family business, and we’ve held on to the same core values for 110 years; investing in relationships, taking care of the community, and giving our people the knowledge, skills, and tools, they need to grow and develop and delight our clients through their work.
