About me

  • International Experience

I wanted to do something in the medical field when I left school. It wasn’t until my Dad started to read the job descriptions rather than the course titles that my interest was sparked in engineering. I ended up changing all of my preferences and haven’t looked back since!

I started at Boeing Aerostructures Australia as a Materials and Process Technology Engineer, and have been a part of designing and qualifying most of the processes used to fabricate the 787 Moveable Trailing Edge (which is on the wing). I’ve taken all that knowledge with me into my role in Quality and the practical, hands-on experience helps me be a better engineer. I have always (and will always be) passionate about bringing more women into STEM careers. It’s a great place to be!

Quality engineers play a critical role in the aerospace industry, ensuring that parts for aircraft meet rigorous standards. They oversee the qualification of manufacturing processes, meticulously assessing methods and materials to guarantee adherence to industry specifications. When non-conformances occur, they conduct thorough investigations, employing in-depth problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Quality engineers are also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, working closely with regulatory agencies to uphold safety and quality standards. Quality roles involve a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and effective communication to maintain the integrity and reliability of aircraft components.
