About me

  • International Experience

I am a corporate meeting planner turned software project manager who has had a wide variety of experiences throughout my career. I grew up in a rural area in Missouri located in the very centre of the United States.

Upon graduating from the University of Central Missouri, I moved to Chicago where I spent the next 15 years working within the meetings and events industry. During this time, I always found myself working on digital transformations that introduced new technologies within my organisations that created better workflows and efficiencies. At the end of one those transformation projects, the software company I worked asked me to join their team and help other organisations implement new technologies. I took a leap to try something different – in a sector I was always interested and have never looked back!

A project manager, or PM, coordinates the elements of a project, aiming for timely completion within budget and with high standards. They're the central figure connecting project goals with the collective efforts of their team and help navigate obstacles to guide projects to their goals.

Project Manager Responsibilities include (but certainly not limited to):

- Manage customer relationships and ensure they are successful

- Create, maintain and present project plans

- Monitor budgets, scope, risks and issues

- Drive project progress across all roles such as software engineers, implementation consultants, quality assurance engineers and customers (ie figure out how to remove any blockers that arise during a project)

- Lead difficult conversations and manager project related escalations
