Not-for-profit UNIQ YOU announced this week it is welcoming  Wayne Gerard, Co-founder and CEO of RedEye and Queensland’s newly appointment Chief Entrepreneur to UNIQ YOU’s Advisory Board. 

Wayne is an influential leader in Queensland’s innovation ecosystem, forming his own startup in 2012, and being named Queensland’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015. In June 2021, Wayne was appointed Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur, another outstanding accolade reflecting his passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, and the need to cement Queensland’s competitive future in the world economy.

Wayne brings 25 years of industry, technology and entrepreneurial experience and his passion for entrepreneurship, diversity and inclusion to UNIQ YOU’s mission of connecting high school girls with networks and career pathways in under-represented industries.

“I believe that Queensland and more broadly, Australia’s economy will gain enormous global competitive advantage if we can encourage and facilitate greater diversity and inclusion in our key industries.
