This year we celebrated the incredible achievements of women around the world on International Women’s Day including a few of the amazing women who feed the world through their work in research, governance, and education at DAF.

Kerrie Catchpoole works to ensure our Queensland state forests are conscientiously harvested and managed as a Project Officer for Native Timber Plan (Forest Scientist).

How do you count how many fish are in the ocean? This is just one of the questions Alise Fox works on as Senior Fisheries Scientist!

Meagan McAllister is fielding the fisheries game as a Field Officer with the Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol. Making sure fishers are adhering to the rules is just one way Meagan ensures we have sustainable fisheries well into the future.

Kerridyn Hooker spends her day thinking all about food. As a Senior Food Technologist Kerridyn is responsible for guiding a team in food research and development so we can have novel, nutritious and safe food products.
