Breaking Ground on Unique Pathways for Girls

Watch Professor Sarah Pearson talk about her inspiring, ground-breaking career journey in STEM, which included being UNE’s first ever female lecturer, Cadbury’s first ever Open Innovation Champion, Australia’s first ever Chief Scientist, to name a few … and she nearly went to space!

On Thursday 17th March 2022, we hosted our virtual forum for educators “Breaking Ground on Unique Pathways for Girls” in celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day theme #BreakTheBias. Over 90 schools registered and attendees were thrilled to hear from our educator panellists and HR representatives from our company partners in the break-out rooms.

CEO Tanya Meessmann also spoke with Professor Sarah Pearson on her amazing career journey and some of the unique challenges she sees young girls face today. As an innovative industry leader, academic and entrepreneur, Professor Pearson is an internationally renowned author in innovation, physics, scientific policy and artificial intelligence; and a passionate advocate of women and girls in STEM.

Watch now to hear about Professor Pearson’s inspring career journey and her insights into how you can inspire your female students to think outside the box when considering their career options.
