About me

My journey may be slightly different than the rest! Before graduating from high school, I was offered a scholarship to study at an engineering university in Malaysia, one owned by the national oil company. That opportunity set my early career path towards the oil and gas sector, which suited my desire to travel and work in challenging environments.

For my first four years, I lived out of a suitcase, flying by helicopter to offshore rigs or sleeping in pickup trucks across the mid‑west USA while supervising field operations. It sure did build character! Since moving to Perth in 2014, I discovered a strong passion for sales and relationship building. I recognised that as my transferable skills and deliberately utilised them to reshape my career, transitioning into new industries while continuously enjoy learning new things.

I lead a team that looks at transformative ways to supply electricity, such as building new power lines or using alternative solutions that avoid new infrastructure. We study different options, compare costs and benefits, and decide what works best for customers and the community. My team also ensures that projects are well planned and, importantly, properly approved by the regulator.

I work with many stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation, ensuring we follow electricity rules and prepare clear reports to support decision-making. Overall, my role helps ensure Queensland has a reliable, safe, and affordable electricity network as demand and technology continue to evolve.
