About me

  • International Experience
  • Regional Background

When I left school, I had no idea I’d end up in construction — I actually studied videography. After travelling Europe on my OE, I landed a job in London with an infrastructure company, and that’s where everything changed. I realised I loved being part of something real — where ideas turn into buildings you can actually see. No two days are the same, and there’s always a new challenge to solve.

When I moved back to New Zealand, I decided to study construction, and now I work as a Contract Administrator helping deliver projects from start to finish. I was the quiet, nerdy girl at school, and that attention to detail and focus now helps me stay organised, spot issues early, and add real value to my team.

A Contract Administrator helps turn building plans into real projects by managing the money, contracts, and communication behind the scenes. They work with builders, subcontractors, and suppliers to make sure everything is clearly agreed, fairly priced, and delivered on time. They track budgets, approve costs, and solve problems when things don’t go to plan (which happens a lot in construction). They also review contracts to make sure everyone sticks to the rules and the project runs smoothly. It’s a mix of organisation, problem-solving, and people skills. While they’re not always on the tools, they play a key role in making sure buildings are completed successfully, safely, and within budget.
