About me

In my final year of school, I was unsure about what career I wanted to pursue. I chose to study a dual degree in Biomedical Science and Commerce because I was interested in both areas and wanted to keep my options open. At university, I enjoyed learning and trying new things, and during my final year I went on student exchange and loved travelling and living overseas.

After graduating, instead of moving straight into a graduate role, I decided to move to Canada on a working holiday visa. I spent two years working in different roles while travelling across Canada and Latin America. When I returned home, I was still figuring out my career direction but knew I was ready to gain practical, real world experience. Consulting felt like a natural fit, as the opportunity to keep learning, take on new challenges, and build a broad range of skills really interested me.

About my role

  • Personable
  • Understanding

A business consultant helps organisations understand and resolve complex challenges. Their work usually begins with research and analysis, including reviewing client data, operational information, and existing processes to build a clear picture of how the organisation operates. Consultants work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to gather different perspectives, clarify priorities, and understand key constraints. By combining these insights with quantitative and qualitative data, they aim to identify the underlying causes of issues rather than just the symptoms. Once these issues are clearly defined, consultants work with clients to develop practical and achievable solutions that support better decision making and deliver meaningful, sustainable outcomes. Consulting is largely project based, which requires flexibility and adaptability as each engagement brings new contexts and challenges.
