Meet Constable Kiara Hill

Meet Constable Kiara Hill – a proud First Nations woman who transferred her passion for community into a career with the Queensland Police Service (QPS) through the First Nations Recruit Preparation Pathway (FNRPP).

Growing up, Kiara always wanted to make a difference. She found her calling in policing, a profession where she could protect, serve, and inspire others. The FNRPP provided her with a culturally supportive entry point into the QPS, helping her develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive on the frontline.

The FNRPP is a six-week, full-time course designed specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. Participants are paid to train during the program which is offered at the QPS Academies in either Brisbane or Townsville.

The program offers a blend of physical training, classroom learning, and cultural connection, preparing participants for the approximately 36-week Recruit Training Program that follows.

For young women, Kiara’s story is a powerful reminder that policing isn’t just about enforcing the law – it is about leadership, empathy, and cultural pride. The QPS actively supports diversity and inclusion, and programs like the FNRPP are helping to reshape the face of policing in Queensland.

If you’re eligible and curious about a career that combines purpose, pride, and people, the FNRPP would be your first step.
