We invite you to join UNIQ You in celebrating International Day of the Girl and help regional schools access our service, ensuring geographical location is no barrier to girls’ future career opportunities. Join us for an inspirational morning in the Victoria Park Marquee, on Friday 10th October 7:00am – 9:30am.
About the Event
UNICEF’s International Day of the Girl celebrates the strength, potential, and rights of the world’s 600 million adolescent girls, while highlighting the challenges they face in reaching their full potential.
In Australia, girls in rural and remote areas continue to face barriers, including geographical isolation, that can limit their access to education and career pathways.
Through our virtual service, UNIQ You provides a safe space for girls to explore, learn, and connect with inspiring role models who offer real-time career advice. Our goal is to expand their horizons and empower them to pursue the careers of their dreams.
Join us to celebrate International Day of the Girl and take action for equity and opportunity. Our annual breakfast raises funds for our Schools Scholarship Fund, helping girls from all backgrounds across Australia access our service. This year’s theme, ‘Just Like Me’, reaffirms our commitment to ensuring every girl can connect with an Advisor who understands their journey, reflects their identity, and inspires their future. This event supports greater gender equality in industries where women are underrepresented, particularly in STEM and trades.
While enjoying a delicious breakfast in Victoria Park’s Marquee, you’ll hear from speakers passionate about increasing access and opportunity for girls across Australia to connect with role models and explore diverse career pathways.
Reconciliation Action Plan
In 2025/6, UNIQ You is deeply committed to strengthening access and equity, ensuring girls from all backgrounds can connect to support, participate fully in our service, and have their voices heard and honoured.
This year also marks a significant milestone in our journey: the beginning of UNIQ You’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Our RAP reflects our intention to listen, learn and take meaningful action alongside First Nations peoples.
We look forward to working in partnership with our rich and vibrant community of schools, educators, students and advisors to co-design a RAP that drives long-term, respectful and impactful change.
