About this role

  • Project management

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers work across both operational (maintenance that prepares and releases aircraft for flight) and deeper level (scheduled and thorough maintenance servicing) maintenance on the CH-47F chinook helicopter.

The day-to-day role can vary greatly from working on stripping and rebuilding engines, fixing hydraulic systems, testing and rigging flight controls and doing repairs on all sorts of components and airframe. There are days where the job is to lead teams and forecast and plan maintenance. Other days, the job is to teach apprentices and junior tradespeople. Some days you work on the workshop floor conducting maintenance, and some days, all of these things are done at once. The best part of this job is the constant chopping, changing, and fast paced environment. This means the role rarely gets too repetitive and is about constant learning and thinking on your feet.
