Prue Fellowes

I am a passionate and flexible leader currently working as an Estimator or Pricing Specialist for the Rig & Well Servicing Division of Ventia. 

Growing up across Canberra, Sydney, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, now living in a little piece of country paradise in Toowoomba QLD, I have always had a passion for supporting women in the workplace. Having always worked in male oriented industries I have strived to be a strong leader and help promote equality.

I did not know what I wanted to do when I left School so my Dad suggested I do a Bachelor of Commerce which gave me so many career options such as Banking, Marketing, Accounting and Finance.

Starting out in an accounting role, I then took a journey through change management and business development roles to find my way back to finance. 

I call myself a Jill of all trades having the ability to do anything I set my mind too.  Some roles I have had include owning my own business manufacturing educational jigsaw puzzles, running a beef jerky manufacturing company and finance business partnering in the oil and gas industry.

The role of Estimator and Bid Manager is to deliver pricing for Ventia’s Rig Fleet to clients in the Oil, Gas and Minerals industries across Australia. The business provides contractor services including drilling, well servicing and maintenance, rig engineering and manufacturing and remote mobile camp management services.

The role involves all aspects of pricing delivery and proposal management, including the coordination and preparation of the submission to the client, the cost build up and pricing strategy including cashflow analysis and reporting, subcontractor identification and engagement, and liaison with various business units to develop and deliver competitive winning estimates and offers.

Skills needed for this role include good data analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with all parts of the business including operations, purchasing, finance and the management teams.
