Lesley Burns

I am the Integration & Support Manager at Boeing Defence Australia’s Supply Chain Capability, and am passionate about paying forward support to young women in becoming the best version of themselves.

I migrated with my family to Australia from Scotland as a teenager (I can absolutely relate to changing schools in high school!), completed a Bachelor of Justice Studies (majoring in Psychology & Penology) at QUT and went on to have a successful career in a variety of industries including Government, Telecommunications, Oil & Gas, Mining, Water Resources and most recently Aviation & Defence.  I have completed post graduate studies in Project Management and several certifications relating to project management and business improvement to support my career advancement.

I feel strongly about honesty, collaboration, focusing on what can be achieved and delivering on these commitments.  I have built my reputation on these principles and am excited to share my career learnings and insights to our future superstar leaders!

The Manager, Integration and Support heads up a team that ‘look after’ a wide variety of ‘things’ – such as governance and compliance (basically are we doing the things that we should be by the laws and regulations we are bound to), as well as making sure we know of, and address key risks to the supply of goods and services to our customers.

This role makes sure our systems and tools do what our people need them to do, to do their jobs well. You will also develop training to support people in their roles, define metrics and measure performance of various aspects of the business, and implement improvement projects to continually improve the performance of business.  Oh, and you have a bit of fun along the way!  It’s a serious job, but you need to have fun too!
